Bio

Born and raised in Bangladesh, Alisha Samreen moved to Canada to pursue her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Fall of 2017. It was her dream to study abroad and live independently in a society where freedom of speech and equality exist.

During her BFA degree, she has explored and excelled in mediums such as painting, photography, videography, and sculpture. Her artwork represents her lucid dreams in abstract paintings and videos. She also loves to satirize traditional norms that discriminate against South Asian women and uses them as inspirations.

She hopes to achieve her MFA degree soon and her dream job is to work for the National Geographic channel. Other than studying and working part-time to pay bills, she loves animals and she enjoys cooking and listening to 60s and 70s rock music.
