painting is one of the major factors working towards evoking the spectator’s emotions.
As an artist, I create abstract paintings and like to explore the relationship between colour and
texture that can be brought to the surface of the canvas to create a three-dimensional effect. I use
various materials and tools, such as plaster, to create ridges, ripples, crinkles, or different shapes;
blades, combs, edges of butterknives and my favourite – bare hands, to control the thick
pigments of oil paint and apply them directly on canvases to amplify their surfaces. The
combination of colour and texture can enhance emotions and perception in human beings and
that is something I plan on achieving through my paintings. The scale and presentation of each
painting are one of the major factors working towards evoking the spectator’s emotions
